At The Melbourne Preschool, we pride ourselves on not just the quality of our VPK program, but the methodology as well. From petting farms to senior citizen story times, community outreach days and a musical Graduation show, our VPK program prepares students for grade school in the best way possible: by learning through firsthand experience and investigation, and incorporating self-directed learning skills to ignite one’s innate curiosity.

Our Holistic Curriculum
Our VPK curriculum is designed to address every aspect of a child’s development. We emphasize academics, socialization, emotional growth, problem-solving, cooperation, and physical wellness. Students develop fine and gross motor skills while engaging in a variety of activities throughout the school year.

One of the highlights of our VPK program is the connection students make with the community. These interactions provide valuable life lessons and help children build meaningful relationships with the people around them.
We also encourage parents and guardians to volunteer in the classroom. The diversity of our community brings richness to our program, helping to shape young learners’ minds in unique and inspiring ways.

Our VPK program includes all materials needed for the school year, as well as lunch from our scratch kitchen. We take our job seriously of not only nurturing the mind, but the body as well. We serve exclusively local, seasonal, fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as homemade breads and baked goods. This way, we can eliminate preservatives, dyes, and excessive salt or sugar that is often found in ready-made foods.

The ultimate goal of our VPK Certified teachers’ is to foster a love of learning and curiosity in your student. With the combination of our experienced teachers, and unique and creative VPK curriculum, students receive a well-rounded and holistic education:
better preparing them for the faster-paced rigors and social atmosphere of grade school.

I had one of the greatest times of my life this morning. I was honored to be the "mystery music teacher" today for Rain's VPK class. The letter of the week was M, so with music starting with the letter M, I came in a taught music not just to the VPK but to ALL of the age groups at the academy. We started out with very basic theory (such a whole note, half note, etc.) then we did many songs about the letter M as well as Christmas carols. Special thanks to Mr. Alex, Mrs. Rebecca, and all of the fabulous staff at Melbourne Preschool, Rain really loves school and has learned so much in the past year it makes me very proud as a father and I can't thank these people enough to making learning so much fun and wonderful!
